flydubai Expands Connectivity Across Europe and the Middle East with Increased Flights to Italy and Beyond

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has increased its flight offerings to Italy as part of its efforts to meet the rising demand for international travel. According to official statements from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is enhancing its services in Italy by adding more flights to key hubs. Starting July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double-daily flights between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo, while maintaining daily round-trip services in Naples to strengthen its market presence.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This expanded schedule broadens flydubai’s operational footprint in Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and twice-weekly seasonal summer flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, running through August. The airline also announced operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Between November 1 and November 30, 2026, flights from Dubai International Airport will temporarily reroute through Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport during maintenance at Naples International Airport. The regular Naples service will restart on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Agreement Enhances Passenger Connections via Dubai

Both the Milan-Bergamo and Naples routes continue operating under the established codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates. This collaboration offers travelers integrated itineraries, single-ticket options, coordinated schedules, and through-checked baggage services across both carriers. Utilizing Dubai as a central hub, passengers from Italian airports can access extensive long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct links to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity increase aligns with broader aviation trends in the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger numbers have steadily rebounded post-pandemic. The additional flights support growing trade, investment, and tourism ties between the UAE and Italy. The double daily flights to Milan-Bergamo enhance capacity for business travelers, while daily flights to Southern Italy cater to rising seasonal tourist demand for cultural attractions along the Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, remarked that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways within the airline’s European network. He emphasized that maintaining reliable regional access remains a priority, alongside a long-term commitment to expanding connectivity to underserved markets. Al Ghaith added that market data shows flydubai is strengthening its Italy operations with strategic frequency increases to accommodate the growing passenger flows between the UAE and Italy, especially as winter travel picks up.

Major Regional Airports Facilitate Direct Travel Routes

Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, underscored the importance of direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo, which highlight Italy’s significance in the airline’s strategic planning. Efendi explained that nonstop routes allow passengers to leverage the combined networks of flydubai and Emirates for seamless access to key global destinations via Dubai. The airline has confirmed that its fleet and operations teams are ready to support the increased daily flight schedule, ensuring operational efficiency for both passenger and cargo services.

These enhancements in Italy exemplify flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and global network development strategy. As the airline continues acquiring modern narrow-body aircraft, plans are underway for further frequency improvements on high-demand European routes. The expanded schedule underscores Dubai’s role as an international aviation hub, facilitating smooth passenger and freight movements between Europe and destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
